Get paid for career interest!

Mayor’s Youth Employment Program (MYEP) is a great program for juniors and seniors to look into. MYEP helps students in the 11th and 12th grade get paid summer jobs in whatever career they might be into.

In order to get into this program, there are requirements. Requirements include:

• 16-18 years old
• Valid North Carolina photo ID and a Social Security Card
• Excellent attendance/behavior
• Experience in work or extracurricular activities
• Summer-long commitment
• Career Readiness Training
• Resume and 500-word essay
• Meet all deadlines for submission of documents
• Two professional letters of recommendation
• MYEP online application
• Pass drug screening and background checks

If you’re interested and want additional details, you can find Mrs. Bell in the cafeteria to sign up for a pass to attend the Informational Seminar on October 19th, 2017 at the Media Center from 1:30PM-2:15PM.

NEED HELP TO BOOST YOUR SCORE ?

Some of us refuse to take tests such as the ACTs and SATs in high school just because we think that these tests are hard, boring and tough, but did you know that taking the ACTs and SATs is a beneficial way to earn money for the college of your choice?

Many of us have been dreaming since we were very young about going to high school,  graduating, then choosing our career pathways. While many of us want to attend college after high school, we are most likely to get accepted in college by our test scores.

Since last year, Garinger has been trying help as many students increase their test scores. Like last year, Garinger is trying to help as many students this year to achieve better test scores and have a much better chance to get accepted into colleges that they would want to attend by offering free prep classes. 

It’s on every Monday at room 103. Ms. Grosse and Ms. Kennedy will be your instructors.

Below are the deadlines for you to take your ACT’s and SAT’s so guys please be prepared and if you’re not ready just come to prep-classes. ACT’s are required for juniors and also it will make our school look good in the district. District required that every CMS school want the number of 95% student to attend and take any kind of Standardized tests.

Obtenga ayuda en las aplicaciones de la Universidad

¿Tienes preguntas sobre el proceso de solicitud a las universidades o colegios? El martes 23 de septiembre, y el miercoles 24 de septiembre Ms. Aranda estara en la cafeteria durante todos los almuerzos arreglando citas con todos los estudiantes que desean mas ayuda o que tengan cualquier pregunta sobre la Universidad.

LASA a regresado

La Asociacion de Estudiantes Latino Americanos (LASA) tendra su primera junta del año el jueves 25 de septiembre. Nos vamos a encontrar afuera del edificio 600 a las 2:20pm. La junta sera en el salon de Ms. Castillo. Todos estan invitados!

Estudiantes del grado 12. Sus retratos del año 12 seran el 2 y 3 de Octubre en el auditorio. Se le dará un pase con un tiempo para que usted venga al auditorio. Hay una tarifa de $15 que debe de tener el dia de su sita. Por favor llege al auditorio a la hora programada suya.
